Which are your favorite movies?

I have quite an eclectic taste when it comes to films actually.

I was brought up on a diet of classic Hollywood and so am enormously fond of the films of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, Myrna Loy and William Powell, Humphrey Bogart and Marlene Dietrich among many others. Some favourites from this era include the Thin Man series, Casablanca, To Have and Have Not (I have the poster of this film up on my bedroom wall), Roberta, 42nd Street, Carefree, Bringing Up Baby andThe African Queen. I also adore the films of the Marx brothers, particularly Duck Soup. I also love the films of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn (of course).

But on the other hand I also have a massive soft spot for Disney and my love for Tangled and The Princess and the Frog knows no bounds.

I study modern languages at university so there are also loads of foreign language films I adore. Some of my favourite French films are 8 Femmes, Gigola, Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain, La Vie en Rose, Les Choristes, Être et Avoir, Il y a longtemps que je t’aime, Le Bossu and La Belle et la Bête. When it comes to Spanish films I love Belle Epoque, Cría Cuervos, ¡Ay Carmela!, El Laberinto del Fauno and Todo Sobre Mi Madre. Some of my favourite Japanese films include Kamikaze Girls, Whisper of the Heart, Shall We Dance, Love My Life and Turtles Are Surprisingly Fast Swimmers. My favourite film made in Mandarin out of the ones I’ve seen so far is Spider Lilies

Also romcoms and chick flicks and comedies - Whip It, Clueless, Mean Girls, The Princess Diaries…

I feel like I’m forgetting a million other films I love, but you get the picture ; ) Movies - I love ‘em I do.
